Some interesting facts
The fun of watching golf would be more if you know some of the interesting trivia facts about the championship. The first PGA championship tournament was held in the same year as the PGA of America was formed. It was 1916 and the championship was held at the Siwanoy Country Club, Eastchester in New York. Since its inception, the format of the championship was match play and it continued till 1957, after which the format got changed to Stroke Play since 1958. See more here Keith Prowse Travel
Unlike the US Masters where the venue is fixed at the Augusta National Golf club, the venue for the PGA championship keeps on changing every year and the Baltusrol Golf Club in New Jersey is hosting the event for the second time. The next year’s championship would be held at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina and the 100th edition of the tournament would be played at Bellerive Country Club in Missouri.
Check out the PGA calendar before buying tickets
While buying the PGA golf tickets, you may want to look at the complete PGA tour calendar for the year and then consider getting your hands on PGA tour packages as that would prove to be beneficial for you. Some of the major championships that are scheduled this year are 2016 US Masters on 10th April 2016, the 2016 U.S. Open that is to be held on 19th June 2016, The Open Championship that is to be held on July 17 in Scotland and obviously the PGA Championship in the last week of July, the venue for which this year is the historic Baltusrol Golf Club in New Jersey.
Tips on buying tickets
You can either buy separate tickets for the different major championship tournaments. For instance, for the Masters you can buy 2016 US Masters tickets and for the PGA Championship you may want to buy the PGA golf tickets separately, but going for a package is always a good option.
You can also buy Masters Golf tickets for the practice rounds. As a matter of fact, if you are a first timer to catch any golf tournament live in action, you should certainly buy tickets for the practice rounds as well. You can take your cameras during the practice rounds and on Wednesdays when the Par 3 contest is held, you can fancy your chances to get a glimpse of some of the legendary players of golf like Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, and many others who have retired from playing in the championship events.
